Hi All

I'm really stuck on my baby girls name due next month, I can't decide between Lucy Isobelle or Amelia (have no middle name yet - any suggestions? - anything that doesn't sound like Amelia Lily please!)

What do you guys think?

I would choose Lucy, as I know plenty of them of all ages (while I know only young Amelias) and I think it is a very pretty name.

You may find that people spell Isobelle as Isobel or Isabelle, as they are more common spellings, but as a middle name, I doubt it will cause much bother.

Personally, I think Lucy Amelia or Amelia Lucy work well together.

I'd go for Lucy too - it's a classic.

As for middle names, how about:

Meredith
Rebecca
Victoria
Francesca

All lovely names but v popular in my area so I would suggest Eloise or Louisa. You don't hear those two names for new baby girls.

Please don't do Isobelle - it's a mixture of Isobel (Scots) and Isabelle (French).

Oh I love Lucy! I knew one as a child and adores it then but haven't met any since.

I think it's pretty underused now. Amelia on the other hand....

All the grown-up Lucy's I've ever met I have disliked.

I prefer Amelia anyway, sounds stronger than Lucy but equally as classic and suitable for all ages.
