I'm not so keen on Bryon and Myles, but I like the other names. Are you going to have a middle name?

I'd spell Myles, Miles, not keen on Byron - too much of the mispelled Brian about it for me.

Otherwise, nice list.

I'm not so keen on Byron and Miles but the others are fine.

Harry and James bit boring sorry. Like Luke but quite popular. Byron I think is possible, could get used to. Others ok.

Luke is my favourite, followed by James.

Hate Byron, sorry.

Byron is not good, I'm afraid! James is nice, as is Luke. Miles is ok (with that spelling) but I'm put off as I know one that is a moron. Smile

Louis is my favourite of those! I do quite like Miles, but would spell it with an i myself. James, Luke and Harry are all nice names. Byron is dreadful (sorry).

James is a classic. Prefer Miles & Louie as spellings.

Great choices - lots were on my shortlist too :)
James ~ loves (but a long-time ex was called that, so DH vetoed it :o)
Myles ~ don't like the y spelling. DH also vetoed it but for no decent reason.
Louis ~ meh.
Byron ~ love. Also on shortlist but DH wasn't having any of it.
Harry ~ meh
Luke - boring

Myles is the Irish spelling
Miles English.

Myles is definitely the best of the lot, especially because no one on the thread likes it, there won't be thousands at school. I knew an Irishman called Myles and he was a very strong leader and charismatic.

James is an excellent name (and is DS2's name) - classic and actually not that many baby Jameses around.

Harry is lovely and on my list if we have a DS3.

Hello

Thank you all for the feedback, its been really helpful. I am Irish which is why I probably automatically spell Myles as I do. We shall be living in the UK long term, so I am not keen on Irish names. My husband has a very unusual, uncommon Irish surname which always has to be repeated and spelt, so hence I wanted a straightforward name.

James is my favorite, but not DHs. it doesn't help that he keeps reminding me that his very elderly mother (who I love dearly) doesn't like it. The only reason for Byron, is my husband name is Brian and his dads name too, and we thought it may be a compromise as I am not keen on the name Brian :). The only person I know called Myles, changed his name to Dave!!

I like James, Harry and Luke.
I think it would be extremely confusing to call your ds Byron if your dh's name is Brian.
