Never heard of Merry Gentry?! It goes well with our surname but not sure - think it might be a bit unusual. Hubby is a teacher and there is one at his school. Not sure what it means as haven't checked baby names book but it is def a proper name!!!!

I know a real life one - parents are Scottish/Irish, and the association with fertility would make perfect sense as I think he was an assisted conception. I think it's lovely if you have Scottish heritage, a classic and strong old school name.

very confused now! Still loving it and Hubby has some Scottish blood and greq up in Edinburgh. Oddly though he isn't that keen!!

It's Scottish, but it's very unusual in Scotland. ive neber met one. It's ver ver posh - the sort of name old Etonians with Scottish heritage might give their child. Quite like it, and your DS is unlikely to be one of 3 in his class (unless he goes to Etonian maybe!? Hmm)
