What about Jasmine, Ashni or Amber?
What about Amber, Nisha, Sonya or Priti?
I've just asked my daughter to name as many of the girls in her class as possible and most of them end with the 'a' sound, including hers.
A lot of girls names end with a vowel unless you go down the Lilith, Tanith, Tegan, Lilian, Regan, Gillian, Lily, Serenity, Isobel, Christabel route with the last couple having alternate non vowel spellings from Isabelle, Christabelle etc

Maya? - I don't think the ending an "a" thing is a problem
Bit difficult to avoid the 'a' ending, but any of these work?
Rani
Vildan
Lilith
Tanith
Also like both Eden and Suri from your list.

Ok... the problem seems to be that your DH really wants an Indian name, but that you don't, this time round. I actually think that all of his choices go very well with your surname - as does Kali. Is there a name which is both Indian, and yet not obviously Indian which you could both like? I'm sorry that I have no suggestions, though Suri just makes me think 'Cruise', so this seems the best of his suggestions!

I love your choices of names! I wouldn't rule out names ending in "A". Could be quite quirky! Am thinking Ava, Ada or Anya?

Hi Everyone!
I am a regular lurker but this is my first post, really need some help!
I am hoping you can help with our name issue, it is currently driving me mad. My husband is really picky too, so it doesnt help!
We are due a daughter at the begining of feb, and have been going though millions of names, trailing the internet, getting the name books etc etc, but cant find anything we either like, or goes with our surname.
My Husband is indian British and I am white British, so we are looking from something a bit unusual. Our surname is Sidhpura (Prouncounced Si-pure-a) and want something short really, and not starting with a "Si" sound or ending in an "a" sound.
Names I think go, but husband doesnt like....
Belle
Esme
Eden
Teagan
Names he likes but I dont think goes with our surname...
Asha
Nia
Nyla
Suri
I dont want something too "Indian" as we are in the UK and so many Asian names end in a!
Our first daughter is called Kali, if that is any help.
PLEASE HELP, I think I am going to go mad soon!
