Baby names

It's a girl! Let the naming begin - Rose or Nina?

So we found out we are having a girl to complement our DS1. So I can now thankfully put aside boy names and focus in girls names. Middle name will be Catherine.

Currently we have narrowed it down to Rose or Nina? My son is called George. Another option is Laura.

Your thoughts?

Congratulations! Both names are beautiful but I prefer Rose to go with Catherine. DD4 is currently sleeping soundly in my arm(s) and we considered Catherine for her :)

Ruby

Rose (for me). A friend has just named her dd this and its such a beautiful.name.

Fwiw I also love Nina and had it.on the shortlist for.my dd. I just think Rose goes better with Catherine.

George and Nina might sound a little like Georgina? Just something to consider. Nina is a fab name though.

I love the name Rose, like Laura but unlike everyone else on this thread really don't like Nina!

Laura is wonderful, and grows with a child into an adult.
Also, Lauras I know tend to be gorgeous and great company Wink

I love Nina. I am not sure it goes with Catherine.

DDs middle name is Rose.

I'd go with
Laura Catherine
Rose Catherine
in that order simply because Laura is due a revival.

I'm not sure flower names suit all DDs, I know a tiny beautiful Rosie who's name is perfect even as an adult.

DDs tom boy friend Daisy, I'm not convinced about.

Rose. I love how its so ageless. I know a cute little girl, a young work colleague and my gym instructor in her late 50's who all wear the name well.

Nina.

I think Nina Catherine is good but Nina Rose is lovely.

I love Nina. Would have been a strong contender if I had a DD

My DD is called Nina, but Rose is lovely too, you can't go wrong
How do they fit with your surname?
I find Laura is a bit....boring.... sorry

Both gorgeous but not sure that Rose goes well with Catherine.

I love tassiss suggestions

Nina for sure.....my godmother was called Nina and that was what I planned for my DD..... But then she arrived by another route, as it were, already named and I didn't have the chance.

Rose is nice and I think Nina Rose is lovely but if you are decided upon Catherine for the mode name then Nina (Catherine) is much nicer

Whatever she is called she will be fab.....

Middle not mode...... Sorry!

Nina is just unbelievably gorgeous.

How about Nina Rose Catherine 'Surname'?

Personally I don't think either names 'go' on their own, but both together is lovely

Nina. Rose is very nice but so overdone. Nina Catherine sounds lovely to me.

Rose is lovely but strongly dislike Rosie, which you may not have control over. Nina fab.

I know one other said they didn't like Nina and I have to agree. Rose is much much nicer. I seem to be I the minority though!
