Irish surname.

Merrycuckingfistmas · 04/12/2012 14:48

I wouldn't choose it for my son but its not a bad name, I prefer Quinn.

AlphaBeta82 · 04/12/2012 14:49

Quinn would be the name we would use the most. DS1 has quite an unusual name which would match this...

Reminds me of Derek Quinlan too. Not a good thing.

tammytoby · 04/12/2012 14:51

I love the name Quinn and think that Quinlan would be a great full name!

sonniboo · 04/12/2012 14:54

Great name - cool, strong and underused. Quinn is a great nickname.

ohfunnyface · 04/12/2012 14:56

Love it- I know a Quinlann who is Quin for short- I think it's a lovely name.

MrsBungleBear · 04/12/2012 14:57

It's a lovely name.

evamummy · 04/12/2012 15:00

Just googled it and apparently it means 'fit' and 'strong' Smile.

Love the nickname Quinn - cool and a great initial!

bigbluebump · 04/12/2012 15:05

I like Quinlan - great name. I know a lovely Quinn so like that too.

AlphaBeta82 · 04/12/2012 15:09

ah glad I'm getting lots of positive comments as I LOVe this name and it is the only name DH and I agree on - and I am absolutely convinced I am having a little boy.

I like it, go for it! Of course I'm American and we're not bothered by something being a surname. It's nice!

Lebkuchenlover · 04/12/2012 15:27

Great name, lovely meaning and Q is an awesone initial!

Rhubarbgarden · 04/12/2012 19:55

I really dislike it.

RightUpMyRue · 04/12/2012 19:56

Like it lots.

WhatALark · 04/12/2012 19:58

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the name!
(It's my nephew's name, so I may be biased. He's only ever 'Quinnlan' when he's been naughty, though. The rest of the time, he's Quin).

ISeeThreadPeople · 04/12/2012 20:07

The main problem I have with 'Quinn' is that it looks like Quim. I just can't read it as anything else.

SleighbellsRingInYourLife · 04/12/2012 20:18

So dreadfully awful.

Superfly · 04/12/2012 22:05

Quinn is my maternal grandmothers surname, and Quinnlan was my neighbours surname. So, to my ears it's a surname, not a first name.

jidelgin · 04/12/2012 22:35

Love it! and Quin for short sounds ideal.

RooibosWithMilk · 05/12/2012 15:53

I know one Quinlan - a girl - although when I first saw the name written down I assumed it was a boy. It seems to suit her!

rachel234 · 05/12/2012 18:20

Quinn is a lovely boys name - I know a Quentin who goes by Quinn. Quinlan is also nice.

AlphaBeta82 · 07/12/2012 13:14

cheers All,
it definately still sitting at the top of my favourites list!
