Help! Two weeks to go and just can't decide.
Love Clemency. But too posh? And dd1 also begins with C.
Love Annie too, but worry I'll regret not using Clemency.
Have middle name sorted.
Straw poll and comments please.
Both names are lovely, I have a slight preference for Annie though
or Cosima for a girl! ooops sorry! for the next girl?
and Cosmo for a boy.
what about nancy-mojito as an alternative to clemency? oops!not taking this seriously, the hyenas will be after me!!
Annie of course!
@justcan't decide, ah fair enough! you could hardy use Nancy! I think it's a great name though. Despite David Cameron having used it. yOUR X ISn't david cameron is it? here, have a mojito
Thank you! I'm having a problem here with smirnoff mojito. I bought a few bottles as christmas presents and I felt compelled to do some quality control checking. So i am actually mojitosoakedmu1berry this evening and in very good humour for it. Mojito will make a good present for everybody I have decided.
Hmmm, how to jinglebell up geranium/ I'll have to have a think!
that's ok, love your xmas addon to mulberry!!!
Think some mumsnetters can be very "precious" on lots of threads, some have rounded on me like a pack of hyenas for some well meaning but honest comments that i have made in the past but i know where you are coming from!!
Now how can i christmas up my geranium name?!!!
Sorry - am hormonal bundle of pregnancy touchiness. Didn't mean to be rude. Ex's dd is nancy so also a name I am touch about. Apologies though - I know you were being helpful.
My mother's name was Annie. She was known as Nancy.
Thank you Geranium. I only suggested Nancy because it did seem like the percfect mixture between Clemency and Annie. I wasn't trying to coerce the OP either way, her decision obviously People often ask for other suggestions. This isn't an exam where you can lose marks for waffling is it!?
clemency is sweet, newsreader, kate silverton's baby is called it.
I don't think mulberries is being rude, just expressing her opinion which you do on mumsnet!!!
Annie is fine, but I also don't like naming children after virtues or attributes. It seems very burdensome. What if she ends up a little tyrant? Clemency does sound nice, but so does Celery, and I wouldn't name a child that!
Clemency, only because I know an Annie and she's a absolute B, perhaps I shouldn't be too honest about it, she's not nice.

How rude.
I think you should pick Clemency
er, just trying to be helpful. I took the time to answer your question. Your specific question.
me*a*n
Did you men to sound so rude?
Thank you for the responses so far, particularly the ones that address the question! To the people suggesting Nancy - er, if Nancy was in contention then I would have asked about that too. We are down to a shortlist of the two I mention.
I'm another one who doesn't like the sound of Clemency. Also, I'm not a big fan of the 'virtue names' I agree with the poster who suggested Nancy as a compromise between the two names. I think it is less common than Annie as well.
Clem and clemmie sound like somebody clearing their throat to me. Phlegm
Why are Clem and Clemmie awful? If you start ruling out names because they rhyme with something, then you rule out most names...including Annie.
Annie. The shortened and nicknames for Clemency are awful.
Annie. I love Clemency, but I agree with youcanbe (it brings to mind phlegm and clams) If everybody agreed they would only ever call her Clemency I'd choose it over Annie, but of course, that's unrealistic... Clem is awful as a nn and that's what most children would use as nn I think ... Annie is cool and sweet.
Both beautiful...
