Love love the name Penelope.

Penelope Diana would be very sweet.

Not a fan of Daphne.

What about Josephine nn Posy?

I can't imagine cooing over a baby Daphne and would worry they'd be called Dafty or daffy duck I do have a nickname obsession though

Diana is ok but think Penelope is the nicest although she would definitely end up Penny.

I have a Penelope. She has loads of nicknames, including Penny, but also Penn, Pencakes, Poppy, Popsy, and about 50 others. It was my number one choice when she was born. I also considered Josephine, Emmeline and Cecily.

I love Penelope but I really hesitate over Penny. it's too twee - I think that's why i'm not just going straight ahead and using Penelope.

Daphne maybe does sounds too close to Daft..

Josephine has gone to a cousin jaffa but I do like it a lot.

Penelope is a good name.

Pfft I like Pen, can easily cope with that as a nickname. It's just Penny I'm not keen on, maybe I can get over it for the greater good of calling DD Penelope Grin

At the beginning you can control the nicknames, so you could have Pen, but as your DD gets older she and her friends will agree on nicknames. Penny is obvious, but not the only one.

I like all three. Probably Diana, then Penelope, then Daphne.

I like Daphne, Diana then Penelope in that order.

I know a funny elderly Daphne, has endeared the name to me.
Diana would be my first choice, I wanted it if DC4 had been a girl. Penelope is a meh name for me.

Daphne is, in my opinion, one of THE most awful names out there. There's just nothing nice about it and the best shortening one could hope for is "Daff", which is hardly great either!

Penelope is nice, I would try and shorted it to Nell rather than Penny, but Penelope is a lovely enough name as it is.

Diana is ok. I went to school with a lovely Dyana, which probably makes we warm to the name!

What about Cecilia, Leonora or Honor?

Penelope is the best of your suggestions and I love what Iheart said to use Nell.

Daphne makes me think of Scooby Doo.

None. Penelope is wet. Daphne is twinset and pearls. Diana is princess Di fgs!

How about Persephone if you must?

Xanthe, or even Demeter is better. Sorry.

Penelope is lovely. Daphne is horrible. Diana is well it's ok actually but I'd wait another ten years.

I love Margo and Sylvia / Sylvie BedHog.

Daphne seems to be a love it or hate it name, I think 5 years ago I would of really disliked it but i've heard it mentioned on mumsnet here and there for the last 6 months and it's really grown on me. I probably don't have the bottle for it if i'm honest.

I think Penelope is still top of my list, very classic and capable name imo.

Diana I also love and it would be more unusual than Penelope though maybe doesn't have it's class.

Penelope!

I'm slightly biased, though, mine is totally gorgeous :o
She does get called Penny a lot, but I don't mind that so much, it's a nice name.

I love Penelope.
Diana has aged a lot and not gone vintage yet.

In two minds about Daphne, I like the idea, but it always makes me think of someone sneezing. Plus it's a bit nerdy and not in a cool way.

Penelope is back in usage again isnt it? A lovely name.

I do like Diana but it is so linked to Princess Di - dont know if that is an issue for you?

Daphne is awful.
