Middle name for Lucy/Lucie?

I love the name Lucy. I think its perfect for a little girl and I love what it means. I love that its a traditional English name, and it means bringer of light, and that st Lucia is the patron saint of light and the festival heralds the beginning of christmas in sweden. but I worry that its not substantial enough on its own.i was thinking of doubling it up with another name as a first name (no hyphens, i hate them lol) to give her an option of using a longer, perhaps grown up name as she grows up. Any suggestions?

How long is your surname, so we don't suggest lumbering youe DD with a loooong name which she can't pronounce or spell.

Thanks guys! Psamead: Your daughter's name is lovely, do you pronounce it Lu-SEE-a or Lu-chi-a? It has always confused me! bumpstart: i never imagined going for such a well used name for that very reason, but its my favourite and i can't imagine her being having any other name! lThats why i want to put another name with it, to make it more distinctive. Haven't decided on Lucy/Lucie yet I love both, but was thinking would she spend her life spelling it out if i went with the 'cie' spelling?

We pronounce it Loo SEE ah. There are several different ways

I like the -ie spelling, but as you said, she'd be spelling it all the time as it is less usual. I think I'd probably stick with -y.

my friend's daughter is Lucie because she is French, but I do think it's a prettier version and it makes it stand out from the other Lucy's (written down anyway!)

One of our sons would have been Lucy Helena had he been a girl. I prefer Lucy to Lucie but am also keen on Lucille and Lucinda. I know a Lucy without a middle name because the parents insisted that nothing nothing goes with it. I think you just need more syllables.
