Baby names

Middle name inspiration needed!

My husband and I have agreed a boys name but the girls name is still open for discussion (I hope). We like quite traditional names which are not too religious in meaning. So far the only names he hasn't vetoed are:

Isabella/Isabel
Amelia

Now, I feel that these need to be followed by short 2nd names e.g Rose but I also like Esme due to its meaning, loved.

So I'm basically asking you lovely mnetters for inspiration. Am also open to hearing more first names in same vein as two above which I can present to DH.

Beautiful first names but massively overused (round here anyway) Esme adds an unusual spark.
There is usually an ensueing discussion about pronounciation . . . Esmay or Esmee??

What other traditional non religious names does your dh like?
hows about. . .
Phoebe
Beth
Naomi
Martha
Juliet
Anna
?

Hmm so far he has vetoed:

Florence
Charlotte
Grace (middle name)
Martha (we obviously would find it easier to agree names than DH and I do!)
Beatrice
Annabelle

Can't have Es-Mae (that's how we'd pronounce it anyway) for first name as I quote 'it's a bit unusual sounding' Confused

Thank you guys for your input.

DH has now suggested Felicity and Katherine as a name so now we have:

Felcity Isabel
Amelia Esme
Isabella May
Katherine (thanks filter for the suggestion) Amelia

Which of the above do you prefer?

Obviously would spell Felicity correctly if we use it! Blush

Depends on your surname - if eg Taylor, would you want your daughter to have the initials FIT? Or KAT? Might not be an issue, but worth thinking about.

Sorry just noticed update. I prefer Isabella May but both are very popular names just now.

What about Francesca or Harriet or Pippa?

You're quite right families our surname starts with a P so have considered issues with consonant, vowel, consonant names :)

We've not discussed Pippa from your suggestions Left will suggest to DH after work!

I love Amelia Rose if I was having a girl I was tossing up between Amelie or Amelia.
