I have a yellow bump and am trying to avoid the baby-with-no-name we had for DS who remained nameless for quite a few days blush

Boys names seem either uber fancy/poncy or totally bland and forgettable. I don't like any arrggghhh - from what I have seen this is not a unique problem!

Anyway, if bump is a girl it will be Charis Natasha and that is totally decided as we wanted that for dc1 who turned out to be a boy and we haven't gone off it in 2 years!

So what would you lovely people think might go with that name? I need some mn inspiration!

Many thanks in advance. grin

What is DS called?

Is Charis prounounced like Carys? Or with a 'ch' like church? confused

Ethan (first name that popped into my head when I read thread title)

Unnamed it is pronounced hard C like Carys - same name really just Greek spelling.

Thanks browneyesblue I quite like that - will add it to list and run it past DH - he's a picky so-and-so though. He even vetoed Bruce can you imagine that!!? wink

You probably should be aware that Charis might bring connotations with, well, pot...

See number 3 on this list..

I only mentioned it as a few years ago, we happened soon a little Charis who raised lots of eyebrows and giggles among the adults. They pronounced the "Ch" in her name though, so you should avoid that scenario with a hard C pronunciation anyway.

As it goes though, I think actually thought Charis (even with a Ch) was a pretty name!

Ah I see, fair play. I haven't come across the hash reference myself. It'll probably turn out a boy anyway! Just to fox us. wink

HW about Cassius/Cass for a boy? Sounds similar to Charis/Carys, and are both very cool IMO..

Empathylass Sun 12-Feb-12 13:09:55

Ooooo Cassius - I quite like that actually! Cassius.

Righto - while you're on a roll... middle name to go with? grin

Empathylass Sun 12-Feb-12 13:11:31

It does mean vain and conceited though.... still since when does the average brit choose a name for meaning? hmmm...

Empathylass Sun 12-Feb-12 13:11:57

I do like the sound though. the child would make the name their own anyway...

SLVC Sun 12-Feb-12 13:20:08

Don't think meanings mean anything do they?

How about..

Cassius Nathaniel
Cassius Gabriel
Cassius James
Cassius Felix
Cassius William

???

A Greek spelling of a Welsh name? Right...

Coconutty Sun 12-Feb-12 13:33:59
