Number 3 due in 4 weeks and we still have a loonnnnggg short list. We don't know what sex so it makes it doubly hard. Our surname is a short one syllable name beginning with H and ends in T
So far on my list I have....
Sadie
Pearl
Constance
Ivy
Harriet
Juno
Lara
Cecily
Honey
Alice
Olive
Violet
Bonnie
Bella
Georgina
Felicity
And for a boy..
Lennox
Oscar
Jude
Roman
Hunter
Luca
Theodore
Henry
Harry
Rafferty
Hugo
Lysander
Bear
Any thoughts / additions? How on earth am I going to narrow it down!

Love your names. Your girls list has a very similar feel to mine. Heidi was my #1 till DP's BF used it. I could give you more ideas in this vein but you've asked for it to be narrowed down, not added to!
SO....
The names on your girls list also on mine are:
Cecily
Alice
Olive (Vivi as a nn, natch)
Violet (Ditto above)
My favourite of your boys names are:
Rafferty (there was a toddler Raffy on holiday last year who I fell in love with)
Hugo (Huey is so cool for a child & Hugo brilliant adult name)
Lysander
Bear

love all the names on both your lists except Juno and Bear, but when I read the title I immediately thought Liesl, and then Paddy for a boy....

Thank you, it's certainly helping me gain some perspective. My h has pretty much vetoed honey but I can't help but like it. Loving Vivi for Olive, hadn't thought of that....

Love:
Lara, Cecily, Alice, Georgina, Felicity
Theodore, Henry, Harry, Hugo
Like:
Pearl, Constance, Ivy, Harriet
Oscar, Hunter, Lysander
It might be because I've only ever seen it use this way as a fn, but I would expect Lennox to be a girl.

RV when I see your name it freaks me out a tad, my dog is called Renee... Spooky coincidence...

OOh, it's a new name! I'm a longtime MNetter, and changed it just a couple of weeks ago...
Funnily enough, my RL name is widely used for small yappy dogs.

Well, H hasn't completely written it off... Joey is Joseph really, but refuses to respond to his given name
He's 4! Liking Sadie and Hugo as top choices but Olive / Violet a close second. I like names that everyone recognises - i.e. Heidi but are not that common...

Juno
Lara
Alice
Violet
Oscar
Jude
Hunter
Luca
Rafferty
Hugo
Bear as a nn for Edward.

I think Trudie goes well with your two other names.

Please not Honey, Hunter or Bear.
Mella and Ursula would carry on the themes of honey and bears and both would match Heidi for German-ness. As would Trudie.
