Hiya I need help collecting a list of fairly cool but not totally out there boys names.
We are a young (ish) family & I can't see myself with a son with a super traditional name! My partners an officer in the Army- he's a William and likes quite traditional names, I work in the media & run a holistic health
centre and am slightly more hippy ish!
So far we can't agree on a name that suits us both.

I like Mason and Finlay with the more classic James as a middle name.

Ideas for others please ........

I love Marlon. Fabulous. Everyone panned me when I suggested it on here though!

How about

Travis
Winston
Hamish
Heston
Curtis
Jared
Brandon
Lennox?

Just as an aside, very nearly every baby boy I know born in the last year has James as a middle name! I'm not exaggerating. It's lovely but ubiquitous as a boys middle name. Ubiquitous.

Hamish is the Gaelic equivalent of James, as is Seamus, so avoid these with your choice of middle name.

We were going to use Efryn if DD had been a boy. It's a variant of Ephraim which is a saints name so that should keep your traditional DP happy!!

LikeAnAdventCandleButNotQuite Tue 07-Feb-12 17:19:36

We chose Travis if DD would have been a boy. I think it's a bit cool. Also love Jesse, but maybe not if you want James as a middle name wink

I also think Rex is very cool (our cat's name) and I love love love Gus, but DH vetoed it.

I have an Idris...

ViviPru Tue 07-Feb-12 17:23:40

Pottering, do you have a nn for Idris? (Love that name btw)

Ferdy is a great name

FaithHopeAndKevin Tue 07-Feb-12 17:27:20

Josiah
Vincent (although there are 3 at school)
Marcus
Otto/Otis
Idris
Edwin

I also like Keir but that's a secondary education's worth of gazing at the god-like beauty of Keir in the year above grin
