Desperately seeking assistance!! DC1 is due in less than 2 weeks and our shotlist is still far too long. I would really like to have the name picked before bub arrives, but at the very least have narrowed it down to two of each.

Still interested in other suggestions too, as I'm worried that perhaps the reason we havent picked one is that 'the one' isnt there. Who knows, all I know is I'm losing what is left of my sanity!!

Girls middle name likely to be Jean, boys we are open to suggestions or combinations of below.

Camille
Charlotte
Chloe
Louisa
Abigail

Lewis
Christian
Jesse
Hamish

Help!

Louisa is my favourite girls name. Classic and elegant.

If you are in Scotland, Lewis is sooo popular. What about Harris or Angus?

Louisa and Jesse from your list.

Josie and Leo from mine!

Louisa is lovely, actually - classic, elegant, timeless, feminine, won't be one of many in the class and won't date.

Camille is also really nice. Not fussed about the others.

I only really like Hamish from your boys' list - great name. I really don't like Lewis. How about Louis, as in Theroux?

Louisa Jean or Abigail Jean sound good.

Chloe Jean is a bit "Billie Jean" sounding. Charlotte Jean is a bit of a tonguetwister. Camille Jean is too much of the "ee" sound.

Hamish Lewis, Lewis Christian or Christian Hamish sound nice.

Hamish is a brilliant name!

I like Abigail, Charlotte and Louisa from your girls' names.

How about Rory, or Elspeth?

I had terrible trouble naming my dd to the extent that after 5 weeks we received a letter through the post telling us we needed to register her within the week. (We had already booked the registry office by the time we received the letter, but she was named close to the deadline).

My advice would be to go with whatever you and your partner feels is right for your baby when you see him/her and not to ask everyone else for their opinion!!! (In my experience everyone's opinions contradict one and other, and it just leaves you in a position where, when you do decide on a name, you may have had several of your friends/ relatives slag it off in favour of another on their list)!

Maybe narrow it down to 2 on your list and when he/she comes along you can pick one?

GOOD LUCK

(feel your pain, I found naming dd almost as hard as the labour itself.... in very very very different ways) xxx

Jesse or Camille from me.
