Is georgia too much of a mouthful with surname jack?

VickityBoo Sat 04-Feb-12 19:56:11

I love it! I don't normally comment on name posts but really love it!

Lovely name like it with jack

Fluffmacduff Sat 04-Feb-12 22:45:41

Think there is way too much alliteration with surname Jack, sorry

I love Georgia, but really don't think it goes well with Jack as a surname, sorry.

Lovely name, but too much "g/j" sound with Jack.

mumbaisapphire Sat 04-Feb-12 23:24:14

I like Georgia too but think it is too much with Jack. Too many g/j sounds.

Like it! I love the name Georgia but DH doesn't so that's the end of that! (expecting dc2, team yellow)

Not mad on it, tbh, with your surname.

mamalJ Sun 05-Feb-12 07:50:59

How about Julia jack?

Coconutty Sun 05-Feb-12 07:53:06

lovely name but very popular around here

PopcornBiscuit Sun 05-Feb-12 09:54:11

Julia Jack is better, but a name not beginning with J/G would be better still.

TinkerMaloo Sun 05-Feb-12 10:04:50

i like it smile

Georgia is a really great name - some bias here! Very few of them around where we are, lots of good ways to shorten or even lengthen it if you so desire, not difficult to pronounce or spell, good for a tomboy but also for a 'girlie' girl etc etc

But I'm afraid I'm not keen on the alteration in this case (despite having the same initial for my DS's first name as his surname! Sorry to be hypocritical! It seems to work for him......)

With a very short surname you could go mad with the syllables in the first name IMO!

Love the two names together but there are several little Georgias at our local primary,it is very popular.

singinginthelifeboats Sun 05-Feb-12 14:13:28

That was alliteration - not alteration! Dearie me - and I haven't even had my Sunday lunchtime sherry today!

everlong Sun 05-Feb-12 14:46:57

Prefer Juliet.

NatureAbhorsAHoover Sun 05-Feb-12 15:06:06

I like Georgia Jack - I like the alliteration smile

Portia4 Sun 05-Feb-12 15:12:55

I love it, as we have a Giorgia, spelt slightly differently smile

Littlecherublegs Mon 06-Feb-12 13:50:25

Love Georgia but as others have said, think Georgia Jack is a bit too much.
Im not into alliteration at all, sorry!

pilates Mon 06-Feb-12 17:19:46

I like Georgia but not with your surname

PastGrace Mon 06-Feb-12 17:23:51

I like Georgia, and think you can just about get away with your surname, although I think Georgina Jack is better, because the "n" breaks up the sounds.

I love the name Julia but not with Jack, sorry. Also I'd put money on her being known as "JJ", which may or may not bother you. I knew a horrible girl called JJ so it puts me right off.

seren82 Mon 06-Feb-12 22:20:26

Yes Georgina Jack sounds better to me too.
