They're a lovely set of nicknames, and one will probably emerge as the day to day name through actual use.

I like all three. I'd put Tessa on BC and nn (Tess, Tessie) would come about over time. I don't like Theresa although I am one for naming a child what you are going to call him/her. I think Tessa is a strong enough name on it's own.

I like Tessa. If you don't like Theresa then don't worry about putting it on the BC. Tessa is a proper enough name in its own right. Tessie sounds like a nickname and is a bit too sugary for my liking as a proper name. If you want to call her Tessie then you ought to think about either Tess/Tessa/Theresa as the BC name.

My vote would be to go with Tess or Tessa.

I like them all. DD's fab and very pretty keyworker at preschool is called Tess.

I have a Tessa (Tessa is on BC). We call her Tess or Tessa. I love it. Don't know any others and she really stands out among all the trendy old lady names.

Really glad we picked it. As others have said, it's pretty and feminine, but not frilly or too girly.

I love Tessa and Tess. I usually am a "full name on birth cert" person but I think Tessa is strong enough to stand as a full name by itself (and I don't like Theresa ).

My ds was going to be Tess, until he turned up he was known in this house as baby Tess. I really like it.

Tess is lovely. Tessa is nice, although I would give Teresa or Theresa for the full name myself. Can't understand why Tess is popular but not Teresa - I think it sounds lovely - due for a comeback!

Tessie is a bit frilly and has the unfortunate assocation of 'Ten Ton Tessie'.

I have a Tess.. BC Theresa (family name) I love it and it generally gets a positive response. I always envisaged her, my Tess that is before she was born as a gentle soul ha!

Tessa is a standalone name these days though, yes? We're debating it but I would want to put Tessa on the bc except everyone of my mother's generation assumes it would be Theresa.

I have a Tess - on bc. I don't like Tessa and she does get called that sometimes. Mine is a bit wild - just how I imagined a Tess would be. I'm not keen on Teresa. What's wrong with just having Tess on bc?
