Baby names

Imogen or Saskia?

Our baby girl is due in a few months and DH and I are going round and round in circles between the names Saskia and Imogen. I have a little boy called Leo and think they both sound okay with his name.

The middle name will be Ruby Rose after both mine and DH's grandmothers.

So, which do you prefer? Many thanks for any opinions.

I prefer Imogen. Not a fan of Saskia but love Sasha!

It's funny you say that because Sasha was on our favourites list and the only names we preferred to it were Imogen and Saskia. Now I'm having second thoughts!

Both remind me of big brother!

1gglePiggle - I haven't watched Big Brother since the 1st series - which contestant was least repulsive? [hwink]

Imogen is the Welsh one that allegedly had a fling with Giggs..wouldn't let that put you off though!

Montsti - I guess that makes her the most repulsive!

Yep but I don't know the other one though so god knows what she's got up to!

I think both names are lovely! Saskia is the less used one here (I've come across several little Imogens recently).

Sasha can be tricky as it is normally a boy's name across mainland Europe, and is also taken as such by many people in UK.

Imogen is lovely. Not so keen on Saskia.

Love Imogen and Sasha - don't like Saskia. Imogen was on our list but people mumsnet told me it was too popular Grin

Imogen. Not keen on Saskia but I really don't like Sasha.

Have you considered Saska? I knew a Saska and always thought it was a lovely name; there's something about Saskia I don't like but can't put my finger on it. Imogen makes me think of the girl from Big Brother who had an affair with Ryan Giggs.

Imogen for me (although it is in the rise if that bothers you). Saskia reminds me of someone I knew (not in a good way) so I can't be objective - it sounds spiky to me!

Hmmmm...not overly keen on either of those. Imogen is quite popular but doesn't flow right for me, I've never met a Saskia....if I had to choose I'd go for Saskia but my first thought when I read your post was Sasha. Good luck deciding!

love Imogen, but it does seem to have got very popular latterly, if that bothers you. I was at school with a Saskia. She was a sassy lass, and it suited her down to the ground.

Imogen, but not wanting to put a spanner in your works-I don't think it goes with your chosen middle names.
