Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan. Peyton Place is the first thing that springs to mind.

Not keen at all. Sorry

Peyton & Byrne.

Awful, sorry.

Makes me think of Oliver Peyton, and there also is an American football star named Peyton Manning. So it doesn't strike me as a girl's name, or even as a neutral name.

I like it & think of it more as a girls name than a boys name.

It would be on my list for a girl although my dh isn't keen on it.

personally think its awful....sorry!

wasn't she a character in 'one tree hill'?

Like in One Tree Hill? Ugh. It's a surname. Surnames as first names are bad enough for boys but awful for girls.

I know a boy Peyton. Not my cup of tea personally, but it's your child. If you like it enough go for it.

TBH, I didn't like the name we used for DD that much to start with and it grew on me. Once she was born, there was no better name for her.

It's a ghastly name.

Have to agree with the general consensus. Reminds me of Paige - another awful name IMO

No. I love the novel Peyton Place but it sounds a little chav to my ears as a name.

virginiasmonalogue · 23/05/2011 17:36

I really like it, but thought it was Payton?

Report
NettoSuperstar · 23/05/2011 17:38

Horrid, reminds me of the nanny in 'The hand that rocks the cradle'.

Report
mathanxiety · 23/05/2011 17:38

Yuck. And yes, it reminds me of Paige too.

mathanxiety · 23/05/2011 17:39

Though I sort of like Presley for a girl.

Netto beat me to it, I immediately thought of that film - not a good association I'm afraid!

Reminds me of Paige too. And of Courtney. It's one of 'those' names.

No no no

I've not heard it before. Sounds a little masculine perhaps.

The fact that I just found it on the 'unusual names' thread on Netmums, should tell you all you need to know...

It's a hilarious thread btw, if you need a laugh
