Florencia - Is it too fussy?

Sorry me again. Me and Dh been discussing baby names again and come across the name Florencia. We both like the name Florence but there is something about this name that I like. To me it has got the same feel to it, as the name Alicia. Traditional but a little different. What do you think? We have got a 1 syllable 5 letter surname. Considering the middle names Pearl or Grace at moment. I am also considering potential NN. Flo being the obvios one but may be this name could lend itself to the nn Cici. Am I overthinking things.

is it a name? I think it would be ok if it's pronounced Floren seeah rather than Flor en cia if that make sense. Only my opinion though!

Del - Yes, it is in my two of my baby books as a variation of Florence. I never really noticed it before, up until reading about the meaning of the name and it's variations.

DH loves Florence, and we had always thought of Emilia too! But think it will be constantly corrected to Amelia.

Am finding girls names much harder than i thought i would after three boys.

Thanks everyone. We still really like Florence but just wanted to test the water with this one. Deep down , I too think it is probably a little too fussy but do wonder why it seems more fussier than names such as: Alicia, Emilia, Isabella, Sophia etc

It's definitely a name! My friend is named that, she is from Uruguay. I presumed it was their version of Florence, Ive never asked her.
As for nicknames I either call her Flo or Goaty.

too fussy i think, probably because it is quite a bit longer than the others you mentioned is why it looks fussier..
I would prefer Florence Pearl, or if you prefer the frillier ones Alicia Pearl etc are nice

Florence is lovely. It was my grandmother's name, and as a child her family called her Florrie :)

It sounds a bit made up, even if it isn't. Like a combination of Florence and Valencia. Go for Florence if you like it.
