Is it outdated?

For a friend who is not a mumsnetter and also considering Oliver and James

Well I adore the name but I'm biased (and my C is a teenager so I may be outdated.)

I think it's a classic name that you dont' hear very much now? More Kits or Christians.

So it is probably a bit outdated, in that you don't get many newborns called Christopher IYSWIM?

Nice name that you don't hear very often. Better than Oliver and James in my opinion.

Christopher is a lovely classic name, and I particularly adore the nn KitSmile

My DS has a friend called Christopher (they are 4) and I think it is a lovely name. He's always called Christopher and never Chris or Kit etc etc. The Christopher I know is a really sweet little boy and really suits his name!

Christopher is a great name, not dated, I know one who is 7.

It's a winner - traditional / classic, but not in the top ten.

we've picked it for our boy, due in two weeks Grin

Love it. Is one of our ds's middle names. Not a name you come across very often either.

Friend with this name, who grew up on a Council Estate said it was the most God Awful embarrassing name after Benjamin (his middle name). But that was then, I think you're okay with it now.

I like it. Like Kit as a NN.

I like it. Traditional but not "old-sounding" and also not over-used. :)

My brother's name, he loves it, I love it. If it wasn't his name I'd use it.

Classic, not dated.
DS1's middle name.

Never liked Christopher. I don't like long boys' names and I don't like Chris as a nickname. And Topher is awful.

James is good.
