I Have Three Girls and I'm About To Have A Boy.

I'm heavily preganant with my fourth child and its going to be the first boy i have. Me and my partner are a little concerned that he is going to grow up overwhelmed by the amount of girls in the house. Furthermore we can't seem to settle on a name!!
All of our daughters name'a are pretty simple and basic but pretty at the same time. Ben (My partner) wants to try a more modern name this time but I'd rather go basic again. What do other people think? :)

i'd keep his name in line with your girls' names ... what are your daughters called?

I'm the eldest of 3 girls and a boy - my wee brother is great :) he's 7 years younger than me, and we get on surprisingly well!

anyway, my parents had a weird naming strategy - 1st 2 girls got unusual names, 3rd girl got very popular name, and brother got a family name, which is also very popular. brother and sister 2 both have names found in the royal family, my name is getting more popular, but is very scottish, and other sis got shakespearean name which is VERY unusual (but lovely).

My votes for classic boys names are Theodore, Edward, Alexander - can be shortened to Teddy/Eddie/Alex/Sasha, which are cute, but a sensible name for adulthood.

My Girls are called Jessica, Poppy and Holly. I actually quite like Eddie but i think my partner will find it too plain. He wanted to call him owen but spelt the irish way!
Were not even irish!! :P

We have more boys than girls in our house and it is fine most of the time Grin. 2 of my children have classic names, one has a modernish name. I don't get the thing about names having to match. Both do a list and then see if you match with any.

I think either Sam or Tom would be great. I hear the name Thomas quite a lot but less so Sam. Sam is one of my favourite boys' names ever!

I've never met a Holly who didn't have a sister called Poppy. Grin I know no fewer than 4 sibling sets with a Holly and a Poppy. Boys names from the same sets are Jack, Harry, Sam and Oliver.

I also know sisters Holly and Poppy! They considered Alex or Jack if 3rd had been a boy. I think any name would work with the 3 girls names - Ethan, Isaac, Noah, Daniel....

Jessica, Holly, Poppy and Jack just go really well together!

FWIW, I have a Holly and her sister isn't Poppy, although I do love that name...
