I met an Eden today, girl of 6. I love her name but wondered, would you expect an Eden to be a boy?

I work with someone who has a dd called Eden. Nice. I wouldn't think it a boys name at all.

I would expect Eden to be a girl too. Quite pretty Smile

I know it can be for a boy or girl, but I prefer it as a girls' name.

No, I would expect Eden to be a girl. There is an Eden (girl) in DD's (age 7) class and my friend has a 2yr old daughter called Eden too. Lovely name.

There is an Eden at school and they are female. Not relevant but she is a right mean madam.

I desperately wanted Eden, alas it is far too common these days.

CharlieCoCo

A child called Eden-Mckenna as in, 'Eden-Mckenna, would you like a rice cake?'

That's just...one of the most bizarre names I've ever heard.

I love Eden for a girl, I know it can be for a boy also but it sounds feminine to me.

I think of it as a boys name. I'm afraid when I hear of a girl called Eden I either think they probably work in 'adult entertainment' or that their parents somehow didn't realise that it's a really a boys name.

Eden would be a girls name here too.

Lol at the porn link. Won't mention it to my sis and her gorgeous 4 week old...

I have heard a lot of people say this is a boy's name but I think it is feminine and would only use it for a girl

catsareevil · 08/04/2011 20:13

I think that it is best as a girls name. I know a female Eden, and a male Eden, and it seems a better fit on the girl.

Eden is definitely a girls name, I know one lives in Oz, who's about 6 now

Bloody hell brillopads I thought I was the only one inspired by that book to name a DD Eden, that book made me love the name even though she was a beatch of a character. Sadly DH vetoed Eden, but I think it is fab for a girl.
