I love Harvey but have a Harry.
Would be afraid of a Richard getting shortened to Dick meaning I would have a Tom, Dick and Harry!

What can't you use?

Dannie for a girl. Have Danny, a boy.

That would be mental (but I really like the name!).

I love the name Isabelle and I always have but it is DSDs middle name so that is out. Shame though as we haven't found a girl's name for this bump yet!

Not really a clash but a name I can't use!

I would have liked to call ds Rufus but we have a Ruby and I thought that would be a bit much!

I have an Eliza so can't really have any other variation of Elizabeth, even though I seem to love them all (e.g. Elsie, Elsbeth and definitely not Beth).

A friend has Emily and Amelia - which I find quite odd as they must be from the same root.

FIL is Harry, but we already have a William.

William is in fact called Billy. Love meaning of Benedict for a boy, but then we'd have Bill and Ben.

Love Betsy... but Billy and Betsy... Hmm

Holly because i have an Oliver which gets shortened to Ollie (not by me though!). Holly and Ollie don't go well. Used it as a middle name for DD1 instead!

Also love Xavier but have a Zach and a Xantia!

I have a Fred, which kind of scuppered Florence for a girl (unless Tesco agreed to sponsor them)

I wanted to call DD2 Evie but DD1's initials are E.V. so decided against it!

Josephine and Rosemary. We already have a Johanna and Mary and they don't fit those other names, but still wistful I can never use them....

Couldn't have a Maisie, as I have a Daisy. Wouldn't use any other flower names either, as it might sound a bit silly. Also can't have a William, as my surname rhymes with one of the popular shortenings of the name. I love the name Catherine but can't decide whether I could use it or not as it is such a family name, almost every girl in my family (apart from my DD) has it somewhere in their name. (I have it as a middle name.)
