Hello, were expecting a baby girl in June but cant decide which name to go for. She will be very close in age to my 2 youngest daughters who are isobel and daisy so il probably be saying all their names together (my older children are amber, morgan and finlay). The names we like are,
Florence
Scarlett
Freya
Matilda or Tilly

Middle name will probably be rose.
Many thanks!!!

The only name I don't like from your list is Freya. the rest are lovely. Florence is my favourite.

Florence is my favourite from your list, it's a lovely classic name :) Also quite like Scarlett. I don't like Freya or Matilda, sorry.

Don't like Freya (always makes me think of Fray Bentos...Hmm).

With your existing names I think Scarlett goes best. Matilda also very nice.

Florence (although lovely) sounds a bit different to my ear than the others?

How lovely - 6 children, am very Envy.

Thanks for all your comments!! I am open to suggestions if you can think of something better? Its so hard cos my other 2 daughters are 1 and 2 so feel like all weve done is choose girls names. My husband likes poppy but im not keen on using another flower name after daisy. Think it might be a bit too much?

I'd try and avoid matching initials, personally, so how about:

Corinna
Tamsin
Belinda
Cara/Clara

what about
Tara
Tess (hmmm, maybe not with Rose as MN)
Iris
Luisa
Melissa

(was also going to say Clara)

Matilda ( with nn Tilly) is my favourite out of your names and sounds really nice with Isobel and Daisy.

I like Florence and Freya best, however Freya seems to be getting very popular. Although that is no reason not to choose it but it does put some people off. I like the nickname Tilly but am less fond of Matilda. Not keen on Scarlett though.

Hiya kat, I know what u mean about freya. I was unsure about matilda/tilly n we have considered just using tilly but not sure if it sounds ok as a name in its own right if that makes sense

Not wishing to distract you from using Rose as a middle name (it's my Mum's middle name), but.....

In the past year, the following babies have been named, all of whom I know.

Poppy Rose
Darcie Rose
Lucy Rose (x2!!)

weimy · 24/03/2011 19:46

meh Darcie much prefer Darcy.

Would you say the the full name all the time? Shouldn't matter if it's only going to be said out loud at special events.

Florence or matilda

Report
Hulababy · 24/03/2011 22:24

Re nn I like Florrie for Florence and Tilly for Matila.
I don't like nn for full names though, so I wouldn't want Tilly as the full name personally.
