Initials Z. W. - would this be bad??

Would it matter if my yet to be born son's initials were ZW?? I don't want him to be at the bottom of alphabet so should I choose another first name?
Also, the first name I have chosen in Zac - how would you spell it Zach or Zac???

I's spell it Zac.

If you really don't want him to be last in alphabetic lists, then you will have to think again, as W will also mean the tail end of the list (though I think it's really only surnames that get alphabetised like that).

I would spell it Zach.
I don't think it matters about alphabet tbh.
If your surname starts with a W then that is it surely? you are not going to change your name to Adams just to be at the beginning of the register, what would that achieve?

As an aside, it would be a very bad teacher indeed that always began at the beginning of the register for everything. Tables tend to be arranged by ability which as far as I am aware, has absolutely nothing to do with names but everything to do with, well, ability. x

I wasn't thinking of changing my surname! I just thought that if his first name began with a letter that was in the first half of the alphabet, he'd have a better chance of getting picked earlier! Thanks for the replies...

I wouldn't worry about that - sometimes people like to reverse the list and start from the bottom anyway! Grin
I like the name Zac, but probably prefer it spelt Zach.

Agree, I think having a W surname is what makes the difference.
I like Zach as far as spelling goes.

I'd spell it Zac. You could always use it as a nickname for Isaac.

Zack is also a varient, like the lead singer of Rage Against the Machine who was born Zacarías de la Rocha but known as Zack

can be used as a short form of Zachery

I had a W surname and don't remember ever being able to queue jump on the strength of my first initial, so I'd say it doesn't matter at all.

I wasdelighted when I married a B Grin

I would have spelt it Zach - lovely name.
