Is it pronounced zavi? Isn't this the name of a high street chain?

I agree that xavier is good.

Xavier sounds like a Jilly Cooper character. I still like it though. If you stick with Xavi people will inevitably assume it is short for Xavier though.

Xavi not so cool for a boy who might wear glasses and like quiet pursuits, and definitely not cool for a middle aged man, who your DS will be some day. It will even seem ridiculous on whatever footballer bears the name when he gets older.

Xavier is much nicer and will last him all through life. You could use Xavi/Zavi as a nn.

crumble- yes! Zavvi was the company that bought out Virgin megastores and then went bust, I knew I'd heard it before somewhere.

Xavier is definitely better than Xavi on its own.

Love Xavier, not keen on Xavi on its own though.

Xavier is nice, and will 'last' your DS better than Xavi. By the way, assuming your DH is thinking of Xabi Alonso, his full name's Xabier.

I was at secondary school with a boy called Xavi (long time ago!)

Everyone called him Chavvy! Shock

I met a boy called Xavier. He pronounced it Havier, I thought he said he was called Harriet and muttered something about how modern his parents were.
