How does anyone manage to name their dc? dc?

Ds didn't have a name until the day he was registered. We had a list but we waited until he was born and the names on our list didn't suit him, so we waited. I gave him a name which I didn't love but I felt suits him.

So how did everyone else manage?

I guess we've usually had a name early on in the pregnancy and stuck with it.

It won't be happening this time though - we'll be there with 6 week old with no name.

Yes, some babies are definately harder than others to name! And I supose some parents have a name in mind from the start, before they meet their LO.
I guess they all end up with one in the end though!
thereisalight when is yours due? just wondering as you've been on these boards a lot (same as me!) I'll be fascinated to see what name you choose in the end!

I had names for Ds from finding out I was pregnant. Four years later when I had dd1, I still liked the girls names I had picked when having ds.

Dd2 was much harder- had a boys name early on, but found it really hard to pick a girl's name. When dh suggested it, i was first shocked he'd come up with something so niceGrin and second just loved it.

I have never understood the waiting to see the baby, as they change so much in the first weeks. Ds was bald, so looked like churchill, both dds had loads of hair and looked like baby chimps!Grin

We just chose one boy name and one girl name we both really loved (+ a middle name in DD1's case) and stuck to it, easyGrin

I had a few names I really liked and DH wanted something more 'funky'! So after much debate, my favourite became DS's first name and DH's favourite became the middle! Trouble is, next time, DH gets to pick the first! x
