On first glance Efa would be least favourite because I don't know how to pronounce it, however just noticed you live in Wales, so presumably not a problem.

Ariene if pronounced Ah-reen I dislike.

Cerys is nice and has a nice meaning.

Cerys is very popular....I like Elin.

I'm not keen on any of them to be honest.

I'm a big fan of Anwen, Alys and Nia.

Efa is pronounced 'Eh-va'. Ariene isn't pronounced Ah-reen but Ari-en.

Ah ok, I was going by this babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/meaning_of_Ariene.html can't find it on any other names site.

Efa is lovely pronounced like that.

All good names, but I like Efa and Elin the best (maybe especially Elin). Like scurryfunge says, Cerys/Carys is very popular.

Thanks everyone but I am none the wiser! You all seem to like them as much as I do!

Never heard of Ariene - shouldn't it be Arian?

I love Elain and it is on my list but I'm concerend that my English speaking ILs (and everyone else) will pronounce it as 'Elaine'. May use it as a middle name.

Elin is pretty too and not that common.

Efa is nice but quite popular (like its English counterpart).

Cerys/Carys is OK but again quite popular and doesn't really grab me.

Yes, Ariene can be spelt and pronounced several ways, Arian being one of them and they all mean 'silver'. It's sooo hard! I can't decide!

Ariene makes me think of the judge who was kicked of strictly come dancing Grin

Don't like Efa nor Elain (mispronounciation probs)

Elin is lovely + Cerys/Carys nice too

Ariene isn't the Welsh spelling, otherwise it wouldn't have that last 'e'. It looks more like an Gaelic spelling to me.

My favourite from your list is Elin.

By changing the spellings you are changing the pronunciations Kathleen and it's the pronunciations of the others that I like and want to decide over.

Elain and Elaine are 2 different sounding names.

Ditto Eva and Efa.

Ditto Arine and Ariene.

These are welsh names from a welsh website.

I really like Elain and Efa. Never seen the name Ariane - do you mean Arian? Arian is unusual, would be a lovely middle name.

No, it's pronounced Ari-En.
