Henry or Roman?

We thought we had decided, but over the last few days we are very split.

We know we are having a boy, he will be brother to Noah and our surname is one syllable beginning with S.

So its over to you mumsnetters, which do you prefer, Henry or Roman?

Roman is an awful name so I'd vote Henry

I like Noah a lot

Henry is lovely, although there are probably a few of them knocking around.

Roman too Posh and Becks for me.

Prefer Henry (unless you have Russian/Slav ancestry).

I like Roman. I know a couple of boys with this name.

I wonder when Norman is going to make a comeback.

Love Henry
Know someone very pretentious with a Roman so it puts me off.

Roman. Less popular. Just sounds so strong and masculine.

Roman - my lovely Czech friend was called this, so gorgeous and smile that could light up a room and lovely personality to boot!

NO ROMAN
YES HENRY

Out of interest - I always thought Henry could be sort of shortened to Harry but DP thinks I'm an absolute mentalist to believe this.
Who is right?

Roman, I'm of the generation to think Hooray when I see Henry. I do actually like Roman as a name.

Loathe the name Roman. Too Posh and Becks for me as well.

I like Henry, but I prefer traditional names anyway. I have an unusual name and dislike it, so gave DD a name that people had heard of, could pronounce and could spell easily.

Prince Harry's real name is Henry.

But that's the royal family, maybe that proves your dh's point.

I like the Hooray thing strangely. Thanks for proving me right :)

Happiestblonde - Henry CAN and IS shortened to Harry!! Prince Harry is officially Prince Henry as ALL the Prince Harrys were known (8 I think!!). Our son's middle name is Henry and he shares Prince Harry's birthday!! I LOVE Henry ...

Henry.

And Harry always has been a nickname for Henry. King Henry VIII in a lot of period texts is referred to as Prince Harry.
