Its a pretty name that dh and I both like but is it too popular and overused.

When your hear it do you go [meh]?

Or is it a timeless classic?

Nice name. Quite popular round here (Surrey), with Lottie or Charlie popular nicknames.

We are thinking of it if bump turns out to be a DD. Haven't dared to check top ten or anything, maybe I should...

I think it's great.

It's a lovely classic name and it isn't too popular. Even when i was a child there was only one or two Charlotte's in my class.

Charlie and Lottie are cute nicknames too.

Classic. I love it and adore Lottie as a nickname, but would you like Charlie as a nickname if she chooses that as a teen? I really dislike Charlie, so we didn't go for Charlotte in the end. But if you don't mind Charlie - then go for it. Don't know any little Charlottes or Lotties at the mo.

I hope it is a classic.

I called DD Charlotte in 1986 and there were No Other Charlottes at all then.

My Charlotte loves her name, but she has 5 friends with same name now, plus her flatmate.

I called DD1 Charlotte in 1986 too. DH got it from the tv show Dallas I think.

She calls her self Charlie now.

Oh I hope my lovely little Charlotte won't be a Charlie when she's 15!

I'll use Lottie but if she wants Charlie when she is a teen I won't be too bothered.

Looks like its a classic name Smile

Overused, but that's because it is a timeless classic :)

Love it and don't think it is over used. DD2 is called Charlotte and I wouldn't mind Charlie as she gets older too. DD1 (6) calls her Chacha at the moment which I think is quite cute while she's little but hope it doesn't stick long term!

A little common around here with teens and pre teens, lovely still, can see why its so popular, same with Lauren.

I know twins with these names who go by Loz and Chaz! Their very middle class parents are over the moon Grin

It was stupidly popular a few years ago. Lots of Charlottes in primary school atm. My friend has her class list for this year and there are 2 in her class. One less than last year!

It's probably okay now but for a while it had ceased to be a name and instead evolved into an obligatory label for a newborn girl. Like Ella/Ellie/Eva/Evie/Isobel now. And Jack. Enough Jacks. Honestly. There are other names.

I'm a Charlotte, so biased, but I love me name. I did go through a stage in my teens of calling myself Charlie but that passed quickly!

I like Charlotte. We've been thinking of it for DC2 if we have a girl.
