Am expecting a little girl and hubby and I can't agree on names. I like traditional type names like Violet, Helena, Juliette, Elizabeth.

He likes Annabelle, which I also like but worry that it will get shortened to Anna, which when teamed with our surname makes her sound like a type of snake.

We have a 2 syllable surname starting with C and ending with er.

Any suggestions for names we might agree on?

GladioliBucket she is quite an inspiring lady isn't she. The name Christabel always brings this lady to my mind.

I love Juliet Elizabeth and Annabel. I like Elena more than Helena.

If you don't shorten the name, then nobody else will, not 'til secondary school I think, and by then you won't mind! But your children's friends and their parents will call your child what you call your child.

Christabel is beautiful and strong and would sound excellent with a sur name such as Cooper or Carter like you describe. I like alliteration in names. If people occasionally called her Christa that wouldn't be awful would it?!
