And what do you have half finished?

I've just brought out my ripple blanket again,it got forgotten about over Christmas.seems to be getting wider, counted stitches on both ends and I've managed to add on 11 somewhere, oops

I've been trying to make a black and white striped beanie for dc3 to au rugby in. I unravelled the third attempt last night confused

Doyouthinktheysaurus Tue 05-Feb-13 14:35:52

I'm putting together an Angel Hug blanket, squares all made. Just in the process of joining them.

I'm also making a hexagon blanket, 1 of 2 for the dses.

And I have an infinity scarf half finished which will probably be for next year nowblush

MissPricklePants Tue 05-Feb-13 18:53:23

I am making a unicorn. Also have a jumper for dd on the go!

I'm doing a blanket made with 15 large and 100 small granny squares. It's going to be a surprise for my mum.

Skang Wed 06-Feb-13 19:41:50

I'm half way through a hoody for DD. Its my first time reading a pattern rather than doing it from a youtube video. Its going quite well if I do say so myself!

reindeesandchristmastrees Wed 06-Feb-13 21:08:27

I am rippling too, long way to go

bluebump Wed 06-Feb-13 21:10:57

A striped blanket, it's taking forever.

I'm doing a circle in square granny blanket, a collar in 2 ply which is very fiddly, and a boat wall hanging thing for DS.

I really want to make a start on a dress for me, but should get some of the above progressed first. A unicorn is on the list too!

RunsWithScissors Wed 06-Feb-13 21:29:04

Have just finished a hat for me and a toy elephant for DHs colleagues new baby. Had done an infinity scarf for preschool raffle at Christmas, plus 10 crochet snowflakes for staff presents.

Am now tackling this for my sister.

Also have a granny stripe blanket on the go, along with another afghan for DD. and the wool and a pattern for a jumper for myself (eventually).

PrettyPirate Wed 06-Feb-13 21:36:30

I'm making circle in the square blanket too! Or flowers in the snow as it's also called, this one. Still have looong way to go...

Daisybell1 Wed 06-Feb-13 21:58:36

I have a queue of hats to make for friends and am currently messing around with some butterfly patterns to make a dress for dd

The border of a little hug

I have two more squares and the edging of a Billie Blanket to do and I have bought the yarn to make a ripple blanket for DD1's best friend to take to Uni with her in the autumn.

My niece wants me to make her a Christening Shawl for her baby daughter, to go with the crocheted Christening dress that I made for my niece. I am half heatedly searching for wool in cream 2ply to match.

How are you getting on with rippling reindees?ive gone wrong somewhere and without undoing half of it I don't know how to fix it confused
Lots of ideas for my next project though, ripple blanket is my first and I'm addicted

RunsWithScissors Wed 06-Feb-13 22:18:55

Oh pretty pirate that's a lovely pattern. Right, need to add another project to my list...

PixelAteMyFace Wed 06-Feb-13 22:52:35

I`m also doing the flowers in the snow! I`ve already made three baby ripples,so I thought I`d try something different.

Scissors that afghan looks amazing!

I would like to make a huge circles in square blanket, but I`ll see how the cot-sized one works out first.

Terpsichore Wed 06-Feb-13 22:55:13

Another ripple here, in RICO Creative Cotton. It goes in fits & starts but one day - one day - I'm determined to finish! It's only lap-blanket size, too blush

That's the one I'm doing too PrettyPirate. It's beautiful isn't it. Really clear instructions I think too.

PrettyPirate Thu 07-Feb-13 15:59:35

I did change the white round little bit, it didn't look right to me. I can't remember now what I did, it's written down somewhere... I do have a photo on my profile too.
Now I've just decided to finish all the 'flowers' first and then start joining them all. About 40 more flowers to go at the moment...

TheFowlAndThePussycat Thu 07-Feb-13 16:04:55

I'm doing a bag made of granny squares from the 'cute and easy crochet' book - it's my second project and I'm hooked (arf! grin). In fact I've just subscribed to Simply Crochet for more ideas...<supposedly working>...

Only been crocheting 3 weeks and am already addicted. Just finished a scarf for me and a smaller one for DD. On to a crochet hook roll in The Complete Guide to Crochet magazine... not totally sure I understand the pattern though, so could take a while grin

WhyohWhyCantIThinkofaFabName Sun 10-Feb-13 22:43:38

I am making butterflies for my sister to make into bunting for my newborn niece...also been practising my bobble stitch and am making a little blankie for my niece after being completely flattered at how much they loved the big blanket I made for her...I'm now at their mercy and will happily crochet anything for her!!

Seabright Mon 11-Feb-13 00:21:52

Yet another Ripple-er here! I got the wool for Christmas & started mid Jan. I'm doing 10 repeats, I think, and it's somewhere between single and double bed sized.

17 colours and I'm on row 21. Of many!

Determined to make this perfect, so lots of pulling out at the beginning, but now (touch wood) it's going OK.

dont think i could make a double seabright,it would take me forever.
ive had to start again,i messed it right up and wasnt happy with the colour order,
made sure ive got it perfect this time and will keep checking,im only on my 6th row and started 3 days ago.

MsInterpret Sat 16-Feb-13 12:30:57

I'm doing a granny stripe which I just keep adding to Inbetween bunging it on the pram and a granny square patchwork.

Does anyone have a pattern/can advise a quick way to knock up some baby mittens i.e. don't need thumbs. Would I just decrease at the top few rows? Eg tr2tog? Newbie, sorry! grin

MercedesKing Sun 17-Feb-13 09:38:38

My family members are now crocheting a quilt together. each of us is assigned with a part, once all parts were finished, we would put them together! smile

whilewildeisonmine Thu 21-Feb-13 13:51:43

Granny stripe blanket. It's now looking less like a large scarf and more like it might one day be blankety. I've also tried some hexagons which will probably turn into a cushion.

I'm exactly half way through my granny ripple blanket. Going to take it out tonight when kids are in bed and dp is in work and get another good run at it. I'm also looking at patterns for a little bag for dd1s communion if anyone has seen anything nice?

im on my 14th row,my hand starts aching after 10mins,ouch
does anyone know where to buy bargain wool online?
the wool i have been using is almost £6 for a 50g ball, going to get expensive

Seabright Wed 27-Feb-13 22:04:12

I use Deramores, via Quidco (extra 5% discount as a cash back).

I am crocheting the witch from Room on the Broomsmile

KurriKurri Sat 02-Mar-13 22:10:37

I'm making myself a big sort of wrap/stole thing, - I'm making up the pattern, - I got a whole load of balls of gorgeous white silk mix wool in a charity shop, - I think I'll still have some left over when I've finished the stole. I doing an open stitch on a large hook to make it look lacy.

KurriKurri Sat 02-Mar-13 22:11:53

judgejudy - is that from a pattern? - my friend's grandson is mad about Room on the Broom, I'd love to make him one of those smile

MammaTJ Sun 03-Mar-13 08:07:00

I am trying to do a granny square blanket. I have only ever done little baby blankets and one massive blanket in one huge square. I am just learning to join them. you tube is my friend.

MeanAndMeaslyMiddleAges Sun 03-Mar-13 11:19:58

A two-tone turquoise owl hat with earflaps for my ds. I'm so excited about this one i've already got the wool lined up to do one in blues! Pity he's 11mo and going through a 'get this thing off my head!' stage.

I believe somewhere there is an unfinished amigurumi monster waiting for legs, but it's been so long now I'm worried that if i make them he'll use them to come after me and kill me...

Hi Kurri

No pattern Im winging it my son is mad for Room on the Broom! smile

TwoJackRussellsandababy Thu 07-Mar-13 22:20:16

Another rippler here and I've just started on a flowers in the snow blanket too, rather optimistically hoping to have both done for the caravan this summer.....

SkiBunnnnny Sat 09-Mar-13 23:37:37

I am making crochet 'trainers' (trainer-shaped booties) for my DS that I found on Pinterest. However, as always, I've done the first one and now can't be bothered to do it all again!

ssaw2012 Mon 11-Mar-13 13:20:45

I am crocheting a rectangle pillow cover. I was unwell with flu for one week so will have to restart the crocheting tonight. I have chosen a difficult pattern, star stitch. I guess it will take me weeks before I finally finish this cover. The stitch is easy but you do have to count all the time.

I've finished my granny blanket! Woohoo! I have some pesky ends to see in but nearly there. It looks fab, I'll take a pic and upload it.
Now to decide in next project... smile

getting on well with my ripple blanket and really pleased with it smile, starting to think about borders now.I've not found any i like though,
picture on my profile, what do you think?
