What do I need to know about a Big Shit?

(104 Posts)

I have managed to acquire a Sissix Big Shot and I am verily excited about it, but I have to admit I'm not much of a papercrafter really (I reckon this is about to change!)

Am I right in thinking - dies cut out shapes, folders emboss patterns onto card?

Where is good to buy dies & folders? And which dies do you recommend?

Thanks in advance!

Right up there with serving 'minge' (a classic title from last year).

I wish I could answer but I'm laughing to hard. Bless you!

Hehe. I once screened a cv that said the applicant was currently doing shit work. I assumed it was a similar typo.

RubyrooUK Sat 19-Jan-13 21:31:37

I've read it again and it's still just as funny as the first time. It sounds like you're going on Embarrassing Bodies. grin

Arts & Crafts of all places - it's usually so genteel here smile

That knitted jobby has to be the best thing I've seen since Tampon Crafts

Thing is now I need to know what a Big Shot is!

GobblersSparklyExplodingKnob Sat 19-Jan-13 21:42:39

Wow, shit crafting is popular, who knew? grin

Crochet poo

Poo cakes

Colleysmill - A Big SHOT is a cutting & embossing machine, mostly used by papercrafters but can also be used for cutting fabric for quilting.

Gobbler - Ever seen the cat litter cake? Clicky here

Right I'm away to cry a bit more. Oh my.

colleysmill Sat 19-Jan-13 21:45:13

Lordy expensive things!

HOWLING with laughter here. Thanks OP!

Tampon crafts! Who knew such things existed!

This and the Baby Pooed in a Floorboard Crack thread have cheered up my inner 12 year old no end.

[no help]

You're going to get a lot more people reading this thread than you bargained for. grin

I once crocheted a turd for DS2.

EDF energy appear to have adopted it as their mascot.

I feel I need to link up this thread and another one currently in Active Convs:
Help the baby has pood down a floorboard crack. Perhaps people on each thread will be able to help each other with poo-related queries grin!

HecateWhoopass Sat 19-Jan-13 21:57:19

I was totally baffled, wondering what the hell you do in arts and crafts with a big shit!

PixieHot Sat 19-Jan-13 22:02:33

I'm actually crying with laughter here grin.

My brain keeps imagining someone thinking, Well, I'm going to do it soon, so I want to make sure that I've done my research first.

PartTimeModel Sat 19-Jan-13 22:06:49

I thought it was a thread title from Relationships

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sat 19-Jan-13 22:08:58

Bwahahahaha! You've cheered up my Sat evening no end! I am literally crying with laughter - DH is not amused by my infantile humour. Boring old fart!
I did wonder why this was in Arts & Crafts - images of someone researching carefully before trying to craft one ...

I am torn between this and cheap minge as my all time no. 1 ... grin

DameFanny Sat 19-Jan-13 22:20:38

Has anyone else bookmarked the litter tray? I also have brown yarn left over from a crochet owl...

Inspiration strikes in the most unlikely places...

rhondajean Sat 19-Jan-13 22:24:58

Wonderful! Bet this is one of the fastest growing threads ever on arts and crafts.

GreatUncleEddie Sat 19-Jan-13 22:28:07

See I would never have clicked on this thread if you had typed it properly grin

tethersend Sat 19-Jan-13 22:28:25

It's the way the 'B' and the 'S' are correctly capitalised- OP was so careful grin

Hahaha DameFanny I'm glad to have been of service!

tethersend Honestly you have no idea, I'm normally so careful about spelling & punctuation. Going to be double checking everything from now on!

MerryCouthyMows Sat 19-Jan-13 22:32:54

Mwahahahaha at epic title fail. grin Job lot of loo roll maybe?!

On a more serious note, there is a shop I get dies from, but the name currently eludes me. Ummmm...

The Craft Bug! (I think). I use too many craft shops, I flit from craft to craft, haven't done die cutting for a while though. I think the Craft bug is the online site with the biggest selection.

Just don't go cutting any big shits with your big shot - it'd get rather messy! wink

tethersend Sat 19-Jan-13 22:33:30

I can tell, Blotted, honest- only a pedant would capitalise! That's what makes it all the more hilarious mortifying grin

frasersmummy Sat 19-Jan-13 22:34:44

hubby says from experience you need a double flush grin

yabbadabba Sat 19-Jan-13 22:36:08

Crying with laughter.

DH thinks I'm bonkers and interrupting his film.

BertieBotts Sat 19-Jan-13 22:45:54

You can prepare for a big shit by wiping your arse with vaseline first. Makes it much cleaner grin

I'm told anal sex with lube has the same effect <not from experience or anything, honest> blush

I was wondering what that had to do with crafts! grin

colleysmill Sat 19-Jan-13 22:47:35

Is it too early to request a move to MN classics? I haven't laugh so much for ages

Jellykat Sat 19-Jan-13 22:48:21

Hilarious! Bet this is turns out to be the most clicked on Arts and crafts thread ever grin

Order in gas and air? grin

usualsuspect Sat 19-Jan-13 22:52:12

Do you buy big shits from jobbyCraft?

MrsDeVere Sat 19-Jan-13 22:54:50

SO everyone calm down and be sensible.

Epic title fail.

Cheeseswept Sat 19-Jan-13 23:27:36

I am loving your comment that you're not much of a papercrafter but that will change now that you have your Big Shit.

MyCatIsAStupidBastard Sat 19-Jan-13 23:34:37

Epic spell check fail.

But, just in case it was a Freudian slip and you are having a touch of bum trouble, I would suggest locking the bathroom door, some moist tissue and a warning to the family to leave you alone til you state the coast is clear.

MyCatIsAStupidBastard Sat 19-Jan-13 23:37:49

Ha ha hA ha ha..... Jobbycraft....

Wheezing with laughter.

May I creatively suggest a new Topic called 'Arts & Craps'?

Valpollicella Sun 20-Jan-13 00:01:09

Classic. Nearly in the same league as 'expensive minge' thread

usualsuspect Sun 20-Jan-13 00:03:51

ThatVikRinA22 Sun 20-Jan-13 00:04:41

BurnThisDiscoDown Sun 20-Jan-13 00:46:57

You can get cheaper dies on eBay too, there are quite a few sellers that do them brand new.

(literally lol at Big Shit btw!)

When I saw this thread my first thought was maybe for you to take your mobile phone in the bathroom with you in case you needed reinforcements / support.
This has been making me laugh all morning grin

Molehillmountain Sun 20-Jan-13 11:05:48

Trying to get dd down for nap. Shaking and snorting with laughter is not helping grin

JuliaSqueezer Sun 20-Jan-13 17:33:12

Yes you're right - dies cut shapes and embossing folders emboss patterns (in paper and card, doesn't work on poo as far as I know).

Cutting Edge Crafts are a good site for dies, depends what you are going to be making as to what shapes to get. I tend to like basic geometric shapes so circles and matching scalloped edge circles, hexagons, tags or labels, simple flowers.

If you want ideas on what you can do with a specific die then tap it into google images and see what other people have made, usually helps me decide if I would get enough use out of it.

GeekLove Sun 20-Jan-13 19:03:18

Who was the MNer who's son did a Big Shit but she didn't believe him. So he fished it out, put glitter on it and put it in the freezer as proof.
The glitter was 'to make it pretty for mummy'

Fianccetto Sun 20-Jan-13 20:22:42

GeekLove, my DD has just come downstairs to find out what I am laughing loudly about! (Thanks, I needed that, missed it first time around!)

rockinhippy Sun 20-Jan-13 23:51:55

Thank you, you just made my night, I Just woke DH up laughing grin I can't advise, but couldn't read & run after that smile

BlissfullyIgnorant Fri 25-Jan-13 22:59:33

Thought it was a gift you'd made yourself for a soon to be ex-friend gringringrin

Well, you can't polish one, for sure...I'd go with the glitter. If you want to splash out, you could go with Swarovski, and wrap it in some nice handmade paper.

Will not be sleeping now...poor DH just back from 3 day business trip.
