Can anyone suggest a yarn substitution for Rowan All Seasons Cotton?

Happy New Year to everyone

I want to knit a dress for my 3 year old dd from the Miss Bea's Rainy Day pattern book but the yarn recommended is Rowan All Seasons Cotton. The trouble is I prefer to knit in 100% cotton and this is a cotton mix. Also, the colour they have used which I like (kiss - a kind of plummy red/p) doesn't seem to be produced any more as I can't find it in all the usual places (ebay etc).

So...can anyone recommend a substitute yarn in 100% cotton that comes in a purply colour? The tension needed is 17 sts and 24 rows (over 10cm) using 5mm US8 needles.

I usually use Sirdar Luxury Soft Cotton DK but the tension for this is 22 sts and 28 rows over 10cms using 4mm needles so unfortunately no use for this pattern.

Any ideas?

Hmm, it's quite hard to find heavier weight cotton, isn't it? The best I can do offhand is Debbie Bliss Pure Cotton, here, scroll right down, which is 18 sts. You should be able to get 17 stitches, or just knit the next size up. I don't know if no 9 shade is the right sort of colour though, maybe not red enough?

Hi Tamum, thanks for the response. That looks good and I think the colour would be ok.
