that is stunning! how long did it take you?

i've seen a kit similar on jamieson's shetland site - is it one and the same? have been itching to buy it for ages...

It took me twelve days to do it but could do one in about four when pressed.
The wool is all from Jamieson and Smith, but I used remnants from my left-overs box. No kit. If you convo me through Etsy I can give you a price in UK money

It's not that difficult, so long as you can knit with a thread on the fingers of both hands, or, as Shetland women do with a thread on the index finger and middle finger of the right hand.
In true Shetland patterns there are never more than two colours, background (which I hold in the right hand) and contrast. After that it is just a matter of counting and looking at what you have done in the previous row. Also of course, you always knit in the round so it is much easier to see what you are doing.
