Inspiration for Hallowe'en costumes needed please

The DSs have been invited to a party with Hallowe'en fancy dress. I can't stand the cheap costumes from Woolies etc, but I might manage to knock something up. So far I have realised they each have plain white T shirts I could dye another colour.

Any tips for a 3 year old and a four year old boy? Believe me, no advice is too basic!

BTW I have no sewing machine, and have really never felt the need for one.

If you are feeling cruel, you could dress them up as pumpkins

Yes but how do I make the round pumpkin bit?

You could always go for the old sheet over the head with holes cut for eyes

Or use wire and orange velour/ velvet. I think mamas and papas have a ready made baby one, if you want inspiration. It is hilarious - I want to buy one for baby.

Unfortunately, this only goes up to 12 months and is not in stock. But it has made me laugh a lot. I can imagine a baby with a really solemn face looking v fed up in this

silly halloween costume
