Jewellery clasps

I have a number of leather strap type necklaces with slip knot tightening instead of clasps. I've gone off the knot-effect around my neck and want to cut it and attach clasps.

I'm not sure what I'm looking for though and uncertain what term to use on the Internet. I've tried jewellery clasps and nothing looks all that suitable!

Advice, oh crafty ones please!

What about some end caps to glue the leather in to and then attach a clasp with a couple of jump rings. Or a magnetic clasp that has glue in ends.
