Beads wanted lots and lots and lots of beads

I would like to make a bead curtain for a small doorway in my house. Could any mumsnetters with more arts/crafts leanings than I please advise on the best place to bulk buy beads. It's a long time since I attempted to make anything like this so I have no idea where to begin.

I know I could buy one but I would really like to do this myself.

A friend of mine was making a bead curtain in 2 distinct colours - she collected them over a period of time (and I gave her what I had in the colours). Many of the beads she collected from charity shops (as all of mine were/are). Its a great place to source cheap glass beads if you want a bit of a eclectic look (which I think looks fantastic, personally).
It would be a great project too......

Myabe check on Ebay for larger quantities too, once you get a better idea of just what you want

I have been thinking about this Have you considered glass intermingled with wood? That would give a nice contrast as the glass beads would certainly shimmy if they were intermingled and it also cut down on weight - a door length strand of glass beads would be a fine weapon!
