I'm glad you've posted here. I saw the C&C programme too - I've also seen the Wizard in RL. I rather like it, but it's expensive. However, I wondered what other crafters have/use - I'd sort of like something for a combined birthday/christmas present. I've also been thinking about the CraftRobo. Thoughts anyone?

I have a craftrobo much better than a diecutter IMO because will cut whatever you want without having to buy expensive dies - had it for christmas and i love love love it! Although its more expensive to buy in first place think the cost of buying dies for the other machines soon adds up ( and i know i would want more and more and more!!)and so is better value really

CRAFT ROBO will do what everything else does and you don't have to keep buying dies for it. The only downside for the CR is that it won't cut mountboard

Thanks Katylou and Pixiefish - I think you've both confirmed my feelings. What I want to do now is go out and see one for real - then I think it's going to be my pressie. And yes, I've thought of the cost of all those alphabets!!! Much cheaper in the long run.

Watching this with interest. Am a graphics teacher, and want to know more about this robo cutter thingy. Is it like a die cutter? Also and v important how much is it?

£275 is the price.

It's a plotter basically that will cut up to A4 size anything that you tell it to cut. You tell it from the computer. It will cut fairly thickish card but not very thick like mountboard. It also will not cut handmade papers.

You can buy it from www.graphtecgb.co.uk or they will give you a local retailer that you can go and see it.They are the UK dsitributor.

There is also a craft robo Pro which costs more but is more suited to professional purposes

what about lettering...do you just use a large font?

can it emboss???

yes to oval aperture- but that would be for any of the machines or the Robo. You can use most TT fonts and you just make them suitable for cutting.

CR does not emboss but the others do. However- I have seen an embossing demo with the CR- they cut a design out using the Robo and then embossed it. So theoretically the possibilities are endless.
