Can anyone point me in the direction of a good website (or websites) to use to source fabric for dressmaking?

Thanks so much in advance!

My friend is of Pakistani descent and took me to a fabric shop in Bradford where she gets her fabric from. They had so many and was really reasonable. I got the material for my wedding dress but they had everyday fabrics too

This is their website http://www.bombaystores.co.uk/

Are you after anything in particular ?

Here are a selection of my favorites :

Www.fabworks.co.uk - reasonably priced but fairly expensive shipping. A mixture of jerseys, cottons and some high end wools. I would say average quality but a good way to try things out if you aren't sure what you want. They also have a good selection of scuba fabrics which are becoming popular, though I haven't tried them.
Www.clothspot.co.uk - proper dress making and a good selection. Good price and quality has always exceeding my expectations. Also good pictures and descriptions, including videos, of fabrics. They also send out free samples so that might be a good way to investigate what they offer.
Www.merchantsndmills.co.uk - amazing collection of linens, good quality but price reflects that. You need to pay for samples.
Minerva crafts - only used once, mainly for haberdashery, but have bought a good ponte jersey from there and I believe they are popular.

Hope that helps smile
