Jelly Roll projects?

I bought one too many jelly rolls the other month for two quilts (that have since been finished and didn't need the 3rd jelly roll). I'm now wondering what to do with the last one.

I don't have any more quilt backing or middle and can't get any more for a while.

So, my question is, does anyone know of anything I can make out of jelly rolls that isn't a quilt?

Anything patchwork, a bag? Cushion covers? You could maybe sew strips tortured and make a skirt?

While I like the thought of making a skirt out of the jelly rolls, they're a bit too bright and loud for my black/grey/muted colour wardrobe.

The picture shows some of the colours that are in the roll (it has since been unrolled and in one of my boxes, but this is the only picture I have of it). I might turn them into cushions, or if I find a way, scrunchies or something small.

You could look at thr Missouri Star Quilt Company videos on Youtube. They do bags or table runners, but do quilting with them.
Personally, I'd make a few different sampler squares (i have the book by Pam and Nicky Lintott on using JR to make traditional sampler quilt designs) and use them to make kitchen cushion covers, then use the strips as piping on some plain teatowels, oven gloves, napkins from Ikea.
What about making a bread basket? One of those square ones that tie up at the corners. Some washable plastic inside would make it nice and rigid.
Placemats? Table runner? Make kids aprons from teatowels without ties, just crossover straps of JR material?
There's loads you could do (wish I had the same amount of time as I have enthiusiasm)! Grin

Sorry for typos, I lost my previous post!

This is the sort of basket I meant. The individual squares on the quilt would be the right size for kitchen chairs, I think.

DP is gluten intolerant so no bread is "allowed" in the house (not as bad as it sounds by the way, we just tend to walk past the bread isle in supermarkets).

I have the feeling I've burnt myself out with sewing somehow, as nothing seems to be wanting to play ball

Temporary burnout can happen, especially if you made a whole quilt! With a well earned rest you'll think of something.

Two of them in days of each other, so I probably am burnt out right now. Wouldn't surprise me at all, happens with most things after a while Hmm

I love these big floor cushions made from a jelly roll:

Lots of other ideas on the Moda website too...
