Hello Smile

I wondered if you might take a look at the pattern enveloped for Simplicity 3725 for me if you have time (the one you recommended for a Cinderella dress) & see how much fabric the age 7 needs?

I think I might have enough left from the Elsa dresses leftover to make one for dd2 so just need the pattern if there is enough Grin

Thank you Smile

Here you go. There are a few variations but most need 3.5 for a size 7.

Thank you! I've saved it in my amazon basket but couldn't zoom enough to read it Confused

I'll do some working out after tea and see what I might have left.

Ok, I need some help with this please to alter it to what I want & work out how much fabric I'll need.

If I make the centre of the bodice in blue sparkly stuff, less than half a metre will be plenty & I have loads of that left. Also have loads of lining fabric in my box so any cut sequins won't rub/scratch.

I have a good metre ish of white voile I could use for the drapey bits on the sides...not sure that will be enough?

Rest of the bodice and skirt...I reckon I'll have a good 2m leftover from the Elsa dresses. Do you reckon I'll need any more than that? (I'll probably change the sleeves to little cap sleeves I think).

Anyone? I'm rubbish at working how much of what I need (hence the acres of leftovers from Elsa dresses Grin )

Hello Lucysmam - just back from my trip, and saw your message. Let me know if you still want me to look anything up.

I usually buy what is on the pattern unless it is the end of a roll and I really want it unless the quantities look ridiculous. I have a leftover box that DD uses to make things on her (my old) hand turn Singer.

Having said that I have a 'can do' approach! You could always the skirt less full, you could fold the pattern in between the notches and have less gathering, skip the sleeves entirely, etc., etc..

Assuming the fabric you have is a decent width I reckon you can make it work with what you have listed. If your skirt isn't full enough for striding out in you can just put a little split in the back.

Thank-you!

Yes, I'd thought of skipping sleeves, I've been looking at flowers to embellish the armholes with (on ebay - shabby chic flowers by the yard).

I've had the fabric out today, it was listed as 60 wide on the website but may be a little wider than that. Adding an extra panel in would be a good idea though, I have yards of the sparkly blue left so could maybe put a panel of that in under the drapes at the sides.

I'm just waiting for the spare cash for the pattern then I can measure up and see how far I'll get with what I have.
