Was on C4 at 8pm. Did anyone watch it?

It did have some sewing but seemed to be more about shopping.

Some of the things they did were awful.

The red leather dress turned into a jacket
The tartan jacket that looked just as awful altered and fitted badly.
The awful porno shots of Chevonne's breasts in the too small cropped top!

Actually, most of it was pretty awful.

Plus the second hand items cost a fortune. I shop regularly in charity shops and would never pay 75 quid fot a dress!

They weren't second hand, they were vintage

I really can't make out the point of the programme. True vintage, IMHO should never be 'chopped up'. It's obviously fine to buy second hand and then alter to fit but nothing fitted after their administrations. It certainly wasn't about sewing and it was pretty awful publicity for seamstresses.

The tartan jacket was truly appalling. Sticking two darts in did nothing and they should have looked at those sleeve heads (too hard).

I was a bit gobsmacked when when the tailor said to open up the hem to be able to get to the inside of the jacket.... there is nearly always an access seam on the sleeve with a long running stitch..you pop it open, turn the jacket inside out then sew back up

I should qualify what I think of as 'true vintage'. A) The craftsmanship, possibly hand sewn, may have embellishment. B) The fabric, expensive and/or huge yardage. C) Rarity, One of a kind or very old. These will cost £100s.
The 'vintage' label is a marketers dream that can be applied to clothing willy nilly. As soon as you see vintage, think £50 mark up in their eyes.

The sewing shown was abysmal. It wasn't just the editing or they would have shown more alterations to the garments. (Didn't actually show the sewing of the ones that they did do.)
