What colour is Wednesday? (Or any other day, for that matter.)

I have always thought of the days of the week as having colours - sometimes I see the word written out in colour, other times like a coloured calendar... I know I'm not totally weird, because a Kate Atkinson book I read a while ago made reference to this! So:
Monday - yellow
Tuesday - green
Wednesday - orange
Thursday - dark green
Friday - purple
Saturday - some kind of light colour, not very sure actually
Sunday - dark red

Anyone else?!

I see days as colours too, as does my dd1.

People also have colours/textures.

Some sounds have colours too.

It's called synesthesia.

Since I was about 9 I've always described Wednesday as a green sort of day Smile

Mon- red
Tues- blue
Weds- green
Thurs- yellow
Fri- orange
Sat- purple
Sun- pink

I don't have the foggiest why this is just how they come out in my head

I also colour code subjects at school- I'm a teacher and so is DH- and DH thinks I'm mad when I get indignant about subjects not having the "right" coloured books. So my subject- English- is definitely yellow. His subject- Geography- is green. History is red. Maths is blue. Science is orange. Art is purple. As far as I recall this has nothing to do with any I my own books when I was at school.

Pretty sure there's a word for this way of thinking, but can't remember what it is.

Thanks for the explanation, weegiemum Smile
Thursday is indeed bottle green, but I must have Wednesday as orange. It's a 'middle of the week' sort of colour.

Wednesdays are a light yellowy green for me, Thursdays are dark royal blue, Fridays are brown, not really sure about Saturdays, Sundays are dark green, Mondays lemony yellow and Tuesdays are a lighter blue than Thursdays.....

Some months have colours for me too but I think that is because I associate it with the seasons? December is black/red, May is light pink etc etc

No!
Monday - blue
Tuesday - lemon yellow
Wednesday - olive green
Thursday - purple
Friday - orangey red
Saturday - orangey yellow
Sunday - dark red and white
This has been the way for as long as I can remember.
The fact other people see the days in different colours is just so strange to me!
I also see months in colours as well.

Yes some agree about the subjects having colours as well! History is definitely red (well specifically dark red/light burgundy). Weird isn't it?

Monday - pale blue
Tuesday- pinky red
Wednesday- golden yellow
Thursday- dark orange
Friday- bright orange

I'm so glad there are more of you out there. Think my whole family thought I was weird for quite some time but then again as the years have gone by they 'sort of' agree Grin

Months don't have colors for me though. Wednesday sounds like a trumpet but other days don't have sounds.
