My Stylecraft Special DK arrived on Friday and I'm hooking my way through a huge granny stripe blanket. It's looking fabulous, I'm very excited :)

I'm finishing off a patchwork square for a wedding quilt my church is making.

I'm putting thermal linings in DS's new curtains

Sewing in all the loose ends from my latest Woolly Hug

If I finish those before bedtime then I have one more thing to make for the Winston's Wish Christmas craft donation

Everybody is fed and watered. Dinner is in the slow cooker so I should probably get my butt into gear and crack on. Grin

I'm working on my patchwork Christmas tree mat.

It's completely done by hand - hexagons.

I'm at the quilting phase.

Oh Ingles that sounds fab, sorry you're bored! I fancy doing some for the windows at home, what a lovely idea :)

You're all very industrious. I'm still in my pyjamas (although I've cooked and served a roast!) but it's so glorious outside we're going out to walk round the park. Might even come home with cream and marshmallows for hot chocolate :)

I'm determined to get another couple of stripes in today but I stated with a chain of 270 so it's going to take a while!

I make crochet hats, scarfs and small 'toy' items. Just got a delivery of lots of lovely colours so planning some new items in my head as I go

I'm in the middle of this hat for 1 year old ds. I'm doing it in a wonderfully bright variegated yarn. I'm still a fairly new knitter so this feels very adventurous. Would like to finish this week

I'm very close to finishing a knitted blanket as a Christmas present for my friends toddler. I've worked out if I can do ten rows a day I can have it done by the weekend. Grin

I'm in the middle of 3 pirate hats.

I have immense 'startanewproject-itis' but I'm waiting for the wool to come on offer so I can't get going yet.

I have a Pi hat to finish before then too.

Making my own advent calendar from the latest Simply Crochet magazine. it is little mittens and socks strung up like bunting. I am doing red and white striped socks at the moment, but will use all kinds of colours. I need to do one sock/mitten a day to have 24 by December 1st....

I have also started a granny stripe blanket! I ordered a kit after finding a link here and I'm really impressed with the quantity and quality of wool. I have managed the starting chain and first row (which I hate) so I am optimistic that I might even finish this project.

I will also be trying to teach cross stitch to my 4-year-old and 7-year-old. Which really just involves endlessly rethreading needles.

Ooh is it like stockings on a string? Sounds good what.

Poppy do you have a link? I would love to have a go at something like that.

Report
Doodlekitty · 06/11/2013 07:30

I would also like that link, I'm determined to finish a blanket eventually!

Has anyone set themselves a target of making at least one thing per day?

I've been knitting squares for a blanket for months now and have just managed to finish my fifth one Blush - I'm not actually that slow at knitting, but I do have a major problem with getting my arse into gear.

I've also started to make jewellery which I would love to sell - so far I've got six watches, each with a matching pair of earrings, one necklace and one glasses chain. My aim is to make complete matching "sets" (watch, earrings, necklace and bracelet) before I attempt to sell them. I've also got hair slides that I want to experiment with!

Then there are the Xmas table linen bits that I want to make before we host on Xmas day (table cloth and napkins) and a wedding memory box for my sister.

Does anyone fancy giving me a kick up the backside to keep me going/motivated? Anyone got any top tips on how to get crafty after a long day at work when general household stuff and wine start calling?

Daisybell1 · 06/11/2013 14:27

Ohfour - crafting is my wine/wind-down.

Can you prioritise by date - so I'd do the Christmas stuff first (if that's needed first) and then move on to other things?

Report
Jaynebxl · 06/11/2013 16:04

I'm afraid I have the opposite problem ... I find it hard to put what I'm making down to get on with the mundane stuff! I tend to carry my current project around in a little toilet bag in my handbag so I can get on with it at any odd moment.
