I'm thinking of something similar to a square exchange, but with any crafts? Like Xmas decs or jewellery or smellies or toys? I think it'd be lovely to send things out and in turn receive something lovely.

I was struck by a similar idea when reading the Christmas bargain thread and the poncing thread. I bet there are MNers who would happily make one or two extra whatevers and swap them for a something Grin
It may be a little bit more difficult to post off a jar of mincemeat than a felt decoration but I think it's got merit and I'll happily join in.

Yay! So glad people want to join in. I'm all a bit clueless about the organisation side, perhaps if we just pm the person before us?

I'd be up for this too.

Maybe if everyone sends their name and address to the organiser, the names can all be picked at random and everyone on the list gets messaged with their recipient (if that makes sense) You would need a cut off date to get your name in by though.

Ooh thanks Angel! I have no idea about organising, that would be fab of you Smile
Do you think 2 weeks is enough notice in case people need to make more or get postage together etc?

That sounds like plenty.

People could get their names and details in by the 1st of November. It will take a week or so to message everyone the details of their recipients so people can post their items by the middle of November?

Would it be an idea to put a rough price guide so everyone is getting an equal(ish) value gift too? Or would it be better as a surprise?

Angel, you're all over this! Full control to you. Fab! I think £10 sounds fair? And November 1st means there's loads of time to get making and get more involved. The more the merrier Grin

Ok, I think we have got this organised now.

If you mail me with your names, addresses and what you make. I'll message you all in the first week of November with your recipient.

Also if you sell on Etsy or Facebook and want to support other MNers in their businesses then send a link to your shop and I will mail a list of all of our sites too.

The gift should have a value of around £10 and should be sent out by the 15th November. Is that OK by everyone?

Well done ThePig this is a great idea Flowers

There are a fair few names in for this already, and some really lovely gift ideas.

I'll be taking names up until the 1st of November and then get everyone matched up and the PMs sent out.

I had no idea there were so many different crafters on MN.
