Think I've killed my sewing machine

Anyone any idea how much it costs to get a sewing machine serviced/repaired...the bottom thread wasn't 'catching'' the top thread, so I unscrewed a couple of bits around the bobbin-y bit under the needle plate etc to see if there was an obvious problem...there is now!!!! I can't put it back together...I'm sure it is just a 'knack' that I don't have...
so..what sort of money are we talking about?

not yet, broke it last night and have been in work all day today ( can use internet but not really makes several private phone calls...may be pushing it a bit!).
Also wanted to get vague idea of what I mght be letting myself in for, since machine is about 15 years old, and I could buy a new one for about £100 new ( less 2ndhand obviously)
