Anyone have any spare DK & sock yarn/wool scraps? 3cm+

I thought that I'd retry this as freecycle/freegle isn't getting me anywhere. I've got two scraps projects on the go at the moment that I'm gathering scraps for and after asking for ideas on here last time some very lovely posters had scraps to send and even a dye-it-yourself kit which I haven't had a chance to do yet but I'm very excited about still!

I'm after sock weight yarn scraps, preferably 60%+ wool or other natural materials for a beekeepers blanket (hexipuffs) I've started. I need 15g-ish per puff but I'm happy to tie pieces together. Any colours will do as my blanket will be highly colourful!

I am also after scraps of DK weight yarn of any length and any fibre for a colourful project which I haven't thought of yet but have been collecting scraps for for the past year. So far I have about 50g of random colours of Hayfield Bonus DK tied together into little balls from the scraps of knitted dinosaurs and snowmen! And some Stylecraft Special (which really is lovely). Shortest piece being 3cm and longest about 10cm!

Ideas on what to do with the DK project are also appreciated :) My only thought so far has been a giant dinosaur as they seem to be my 'thing' for knitting, but that would mean writing a pattern and I'm not sure if that would happen Grin

But back to the point: If anybody has scraps going at all I would be hugely appreciative of them. I'm happy to send a pre-addressed/stamped envelope (or jiffy bag?) or pay postage for it. I'm

Pixie I'm currently crocheting the Attic24 Flower Garden throw in Stylecraft. I'm working my way through joining the granny squares and hope to be starting the edging at the end of the week. Can you wait about 2 weeks for any scraps I may have left over? Happy to post them to you if it will help.

Sorry, tis early, am being thick. Do you just want lots of little bits of leftovers? No minimum size/length? Have loads of little bits of Debbie Bliss cashmerino dk. If you want to pm me your address I am happy to post to you

You could make a monster with the DK - no pattern really needed as they are basically some kind of blob with arms, legs and a face stitched on. this kind of thing.

I don't have any scraps as I use them to stuff things with.

Any size scraps are great thank you! AS long as I can tie them to another piece, so about three cm is enough to tie and be left with a slight bit of colour. And I can wait months, it's an ongoing thing :) I haven't got nearly enough to start making things yet. It's more a "if you're doing projects and throwing scraps could you put them aside please" type thing :)

I know quite a few like to use them as stuffing to save waste, I used to use them to stuff with but then I saw a bit in my knitting book about tying then into a ball and thought I'd have a go. It's taking a lot longer to get a big ball than I originally thought it would!

A scrap monster, I like that idea!

I just grabbed an image from the old Crochet with Raymond blog because I remembered that she knitted monsters :)
