I use a large polystyrene board that came in the box our new fridge was delivered in, it`s big enough for most things.

I use the DC's giant foam dominoes or hopscotch pieces. For accuracy (ie getting squares the same size for joining) I sometimes pin a piece of gingham on first, and measure using the checks.

For bigger things I use a carpeted floor.

Starchy solution is great for small shapes to stop curling.

I've heard that those foam floor tiles/children's play mat tiles are good.

How do fellow crocheters go about this. I sometimes pin out on ironing board and have done the washing method. I was thinking of making a quilted pin board to do it.
