Hi there - a new Mum here - my DH and I are off for a very cheapo weekend away to Malmo in Sweden in a few weeks time....yeah!!! As a bit of a crazy scrapbooker/altering person, I like to check out what there is on offer everywhere I go!! - Does anyone know if there are any craft shops worth checking out in Malmo please?! - Thanks!!

how exciting! Have you read the Henning Mankell books?

(don't know of any craft shops sorry!)

I thought that might be why you were visiting Malmo!

He writes quite dark detective stories based around a detective called Kurt Wallander who works in a place called Ystad (in Skane) in Sweden (well in the series Kurt has just retired and his daughter Linda has just started working). They often pop to Malmo as I think Malmo is the biggest city in Skane (have never been myself so not completely sure!).

If you like detective books and enjoy reading, it might be fun to have a look at one before you go. You can normally get them in the library. One of the best ones to start with is Sidetracked.

Anyway, as I've been useless in helping you with what you really wanted, here's the malmo tourist info site and the virtual tourist site. Hope that helps.

Oh bless you!! Thanks so much! I love reading (usually rubbish..) but, may well give this one a go. It is always exciting to go to somewhere where a story is set. The reason for going is that we managed to get really cheapo tickets - and there is a shop there (sells clothes and home furnishings - really unusual) - and I worked out (well, sort of..) that it would be far cheaper for us to go for the weekend than pay postage and packing!!! Ha! But as an avid crafter/scrapbooker, I always like to look up craft shops where ever I go!! - The books sound great - my fav detective stories are the James Patterson series - although his earlier books are much better than the recent ones I think - and you?
